A full time postdoctoral position is available for up to 36 months for a highly motivated scientist to carry out a research project funded by Arthritis Research UK in the laboratory of Prof. Rose Zamoyska, to identify the proteins interacting with the intracellular phosphatase, PTPN22. Protein purification and mass spectroscopy of the PTPN22 interactome will be performed from T lymphocytes containing an epitope tagged PTPN22 gene. The post-holder will perform purification of StrepTag associated proteins for analysis by high resolution mass spectrometry. The project will require analysis of complex data sets and testing of signaling pathways that are identified as being relevant to T cell function. Applicants must have a Ph.D. and appropriate experience indicated by publications in international peer reviewed journals. You must possess excellent organisation skills and be capable of individual initiative and of interacting as part of a team. Laboratory skills required include experience in proteomics, cell culture and biochemical analysis of signalling pathways. Contact: Rose Zamoyska (Rose.Zamoyska@ed.ac.uk)
