A postdoctoral position is available in the laboratory of the Vascular Biology and Regenerative Medicine Unit, supervised by Prof. Pompilio at Centro Cardiologico Monzino-IRCCS research hospital.
The candidate will investigate the role of cardiac mesenchymal stromal cells in arrhythmogenic cardiomyopathy (Sommariva E et al., Eur Heart J. 2016 Jun 14;37(23):1835-46), in the context of their direct and paracrine interaction with the cardiomyocyte compartment.
Candidates should have a strong background in cardiac cell biology, molecular biology and possibly biostatistics. Candidates should be motivated, enthusiastic about science and display initiative as well as independence in managing a project. Excellent English writing and speech skills are required.
The position is open to graduating !Ph.D. students or current postdoctoral fellows who received their PhD within the last 5 years. The initial appointment will be one year and renewable for the subsequent 2 years.
The research group is expanding its translational interests in cell modeling of genetic cardiac diseases. The candidate will be given the opportunity to deepen his own interests in this context.
The international nature of the project will offer the candidate the opportunity to work within a broad network of clinical and basic researchers with different competences all across Europe.
