Do you want to contribute to decipher how blood cells are formed?
A Research Assistant / Laboratory Manager position is immediately available in the lab of Andrea Ditadi. The successful candidate will integrate stem cell, developmental and molecular biology in a highly collaborative, multidisciplinary translational research environment.


We are looking for a highly motivated and versatile researcher who will contribute directly to experimental projects while also supporting the day-to-day scientific and organizational activities of the laboratory. The successful candidate will work closely with the PI and other members of the group across multiple research projects and will have the opportunity to take on increasing responsibility in both the scientific and day-to-day organization of the laboratory.

 

Main tasks
• Human pluripotent stem cell culture, maintenance and differentiation, including cell engineering
• Mouse work, including breeding, genotyping, in vivo procedures, blood and tissue collection and analysis
• Molecular and cellular assays, including PCR, RT-PCR, Western blotting, ELISA and flow cytometry
• Experimental planning, troubleshooting and optimization of established and newly developed protocols
• Training and technical support of lab members, and contribution to data interpretation and publication
• General laboratory organization and maintenance, including inventories, ordering, equipment maintenance and experimental records

 

Qualifications and skills
• Biomedical or life-science degree at Master or PhD level, with previous hands-on research experience
• Previous experience with mouse experimentation is required
• Previous experience in cell culture and molecular biology; experience with hPSCs would be an asset
• High accuracy, reliability and attention to detail, with strong troubleshooting skills
• Excellent organizational and multi-tasking skills, with a proactive, flexible and self-motivated approach to work
• Strong team spirit and communication, with the ability to work independently and collaboratively; good oral and written English
