A Postdoctoral fellow position is open to join the team of Dr. Valentina Cianfanelli, at the Department of Science – appointed as Department of Excellence 2018-2022 and 2022-2027 by the Italian Ministry of University and Research - of University Roma

Where: The workplace is the Department of Science, University Roma TRE, Viale Marconi 446, 00146 Rome, Italy

When: The position is available as early as March 2024, and is funded through a 2-year grant: the PRIN 2022 PNRR (Italian Ministry of University and Research) to Dr. Valentina Cianfanelli

What: The postdoctoral fellow will be involved in a very exciting project about the post-translational and transcriptional regulation of peroxisome turnover mediated by autophagy. We will exploit state of the art imaging techniques, selective reporters of peroxisome turnover, protein-protein interaction assays, organelle purification assays, gene editing and “-omics” approaches. The functional relevance of the peroxisome turnover regulation will also be studied in cancer models (i.e. renal cancer)

Salary: The salary will be discussed privately with the applicants, based on their previous experience.

Essentials: The candidates should have a PhD in biology or a related discipline and preferably documented experience in cellular and/or molecular biology. Excellent technical skills and the ability to think independently and as part of a research team are highly desired. The ideal candidate should be strongly motivated and able to work in a research team.
