Managing Science in the Biotech Industry: An Intensive Course for Students and Postdocs

Thinking about a career in industry?

The American Society for Cell Biology and the Keck Graduate Institute now offer the course "Managing Science in the Biotech Industry", with generous funding from EMD Millipore. The 2015 course will be held July 12-24, 2015. We are now accepting applications until April 15th, 2015.


The course will introduce PhD scientists to the competencies they need to thrive in industry and will expose them to the culture and infrastructure of life sciences companies through MBA- style case-based teaching, professional development workshops, and a team-based project. Learn how to conduct research in industry and gain invaluable insight into the way industry views scientific research. Learn to leverage your analytical PhD skill set! International and U.S. applicants are welcome. Advanced graduate students with at least three years of scientific research experience, postdocs, and non-tenure-track junior scientists within 7 years of graduating with their PhDs are eligible to apply.

What Does the Scholarship Cover? All 40 students accepted into the program will receive free tuition, housing, meals, and up to 50% travel support. KGI, a leading provider of professional education for scientists interested in business aspects of the life science industry, has conducted intensive courses similar to this one for the past three years.
